What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

After missing the 2020-2021 season due to COVID-19 and being in the portal my goal was to show teams that I am a solid player and that in the right system I could make plays and be effective. But coming off of this 2021-2022 season I feel as though I’ve learned a lot about myself as a player, teammate, and leader and I hope to continue the same progression in the next phase of my career.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I think I helped increase my chances because I was able to get more film and good production while I was in the game. I was able to show teams good instincts, a nose for the ball, ability to lead a defense, and that I can make an impact on special teams.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I have been described as a great football player with natural instincts for the game and an athlete that you can put anywhere on the field who will make plays.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When I watch the guys in the NFL like Myles Jack, Lavonte David, Roquan Smith they all have great technique and I think that’s something I can always get better at. One of the most important parts of playing linebacker is being able to use your hands, so if you can’t use your hands to shed blocks then you will have a tough time.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I think what separates me from other prospects in this draft is that I am great with using my hands, I do a great job of diagnosing and using my triangle vision to see the big pictures and my ability to play the run.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I have been training at House of Athlete down in Florida preparing for my Pro Day.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am the commander of the defense so I have to be the communicator to make sure everyone knows the play and is lined up properly. I am a people person so my personality will gel with the other players. I am not a locker room or off the field problem so I will not attract any unnecessary attention to the organization.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I know that whichever team drafts me will end up with the steal of the draft. I am an uncut gem that can blossom into a pure diamond when thrown into the fire. I am hardworking, determined, motivated and a grinder that is ready to work. I know that I can be a difference maker for a team. All I need is the opportunity to prove that.
