Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
I wanted to finish off my last year at Shepherd University by making the first team All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American lists. I also wanted to win another Region Title, bringing us another chance in the Final Four again. I was fortunate to have a lot of fun, make plenty of memories, and be able to play on the same field for the last time at Shepherd with my brother, Dustin.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
In my opinion, my coaches would say that I’m a lead-by-example type of guy by showing up every day to improve.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
As an offensive lineman, I look for hand placement, kick depth and width, run and pass block angles, and edge rusher speed and power moves. Altogether as a player, I watch any mistakes I have made and figure out what I will improve on in the next game. It’s crucial to be able to study my own plays and understand what I did to protect my teammates and how that changes depending on my opponent.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other prospects is that I am extremely physical on both pass and run plays, I love to finish opponents, and I am quick for my size.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I will be training at X3 Performance in Fort Myers, Florida to prepare for the 2023 NFLPA Bowl Game and the NFL Combine, with hopes of boosting my stock for the 2023 NFL Draft.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
One of my strengths is that I am extremely level-headed and grounded. I know there is always improvements to be made as a player and I bring that mindset every single day. By doing so, I hold myself and my teammates accountable at practice, lifting, and games.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
My road to getting where I am has not been easy, but I have become the player that I am today by being the hardest worker in the room and never quitting. When I am given a chance within the NFL or any pro leagues, I will continue with this mindset and work my ass off to bring success to my team and organization. It has been a privilege to make it this far, but I’m not finished yet.
