Joel Dominguez Signs With Earlham

Joel Dominguez, of Miami Coral Park High School (Miami, FL), signed his letter of intent to play for Earlham College. Earlham is a DIII program in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The 5’11” 230 pound Linebacker, was a 2 year captain and 3 year starter on varsity. He won MVP for Coral Park his senior year and finished the season with 3.5 sacks and 73 tackles.

Q: How exciting was National Signing Day for you? What did you do?

A: National Signing Day was extremely exciting for me, one of the best days of my life. I had a signing ceremony in the library with my coaches and loved ones then went to eat some wings to celebrate.

Q: What made you ultimately sign with Earlham?

A: When I visited Earlham was when I decided to pull the trigger. I fell in love with the coaching staff, facilities, and campus.

Q: What other schools were you looking at?

A: I was looking at Mount Union, MNU and Lindenwood.

Q: As a linebacker, would you rather get a sack on the quarterback, or lay out a running back coming through a hole up the middle?

A: As a linebacker I’d rather sack a QB, there’s no better feeling than defeating a block and nailing a QB.

Q: Are you ready to make the transition from high school to college?

A: I am ready to make the transition. Everyday in the morning I train with my high school preparing for the next level, trying to get bigger, faster, and stronger.

Q: How would you describe your style of play?

A: I’d describe my playing style as passionate, physical, and 100 mph.

Q: What is the biggest asset you will bring to the Quakers?

A: The biggest asset I’ll bring to The Quakers is my intensity and work ethic.

Q: What are your goals this season as a player?

A: My goal this season as a player is to contribute to my team in any way possible in order to be victorious.

A: My goals this season as a team are to win football games and build brotherly bonds in the meanwhile
