Jevon Elmore: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Jevon Elmore
School: Central Connecticut State University
Position: Defensive Back
Height: 5’9″
Weight: 189

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

My biggest goal going into my senior season was to go out on top of the northeast conference and steadily improve my technique and draft stock.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Gritty, Fast, Physical.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Continue to train with my trainer Will Agnello at Advantage Training and hit up any CFL or additional tryouts along the way.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

I look for tendencies in what the WR does in press man vs off, what the offense likes to run in short yardage vs 3rd and long situations, and what depth most of those routes are ran at.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

My speed, tackling ability, and ball awareness. I make every catch a hard catch and my speed allows me to be in position to make plays on almost every pass attempt.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I have next level speed, which to me is the deal breaker in most situations. Once in position, I have film that shows my ability to break up good thrown balls and make open field tackles.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I’m not someone who is looking for a jersey or roster spot, I’m someone who is constantly looking to make plays for my team. Whether it’s on special teams or in the nickel slot, my instincts and play making ability will show in any rookie mini camp.
