Name: James Linn

Position: QB
Height: 5-11

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Going into my final year all I had my mind set on was winning, so having said that prior to the season my main goal was to get as far as possible, win every day & every week. And could care less about any other type of numbers involved. We ended up going 8-3, had the opportunity to compete in our conference championship as well as compete in the 1st inaugural Lakefront Bowl.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I believe my coaches and teammates would label me as a hard working leader, who loves to compete and play the game of football, someone who’s going to give you his all each opportunity given and always look out for the team.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film I like to take notes and see things I’m doing wrong or could’ve corrected. I like to watch the games from different views whether that’s Hudl, the Schools livestream, or videos of play by plays as well as practice film if available. Seeing it from different viewpoints gives me a better understanding of players movements, leverage, and ability to see coverages from these angles. I try to focus on understanding my mistakes, breaking down other teams players, positions, formations, and coverages. As well as look for keys and openings I can try & exploit in games.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
In all honesty, I know the one thing that separates me from other prospects at my position is my competitiveness and work ethic. I strive to always be the best in whatever I’m doing and will do what needs to be done to reach that goal of mine. My mindset is driven on constant competition and I’m all about business and work, day in and day out.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I plan to stay ready for any opportunity that comes my way by keeping myself in football shape; that being with my workouts, throwing, and field work. I’m a fan of “The grind” and just because the future isn’t sure right now doesn’t mean I’ll stop doing what I’m used to and love.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Strengths I’d be bringing to teams would be things like my personality & being a high energy individual who’s honest and says things how they are. I’d also bring teams a highly competitive, self-motivated individual, who’s tough and able to make big plays on both the ground and air when needed.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I know anybody willing to take a shot on me, not only would I be thankful for the opportunity, but I stand on loyalty and will be giving everything I got and can do from the first second to the last, doing whatever is needed. At the end of the day I just love the game and will do whatever I can to be apart of it and help a team win.
