Name: Jamal Woods
School: University of Illinois
Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My goal was to finish the season off strong and healthy. To leave everything I had on the field. I can say that I did that for my last year and had a great time winning with my team.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I’m energetic, coachable, and a great leader for those who need leading. I’m never a guy whose never willing to bring the team at all but to all ways help them rise to the occasion by my actions or words.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I like to put myself in situations as if I was on the field. I look at the alignment and technique of an offensive lineman. This help me determine what moves will have a better success rate than others. Watching the backfield set also gives me clues on what a play would be.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I’m a 6’2 290lb who moves very quick and uses it against my opponent. I’m strong at the point of contact and understand what it means to leverage. This allows me to make plays that I make to set myself up for a better career.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I will continue to keep working out and learning new things from different people around the country. I have plenty of people I can rely on to help me to this next step. The more I can expand my bag the better my process will be.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I’m considered a leader on and off the field. I am that guy when people see in the real world they will know that I am a great representative of wherever I’m at. I love to have great connection with teammates which allows us to grow a better bond and win.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
If you want somebody who wants to get it out of the mud, somebody who is willing to sacrifice everything then I am your guy. I will never take a day for granted. I’m going to earn my way into the profession level and make a impact.
