Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
Coming into my Senior season, I had one particular goal in mind and that was to win a National Championship. Unfortunately, we fell short 2 games away, but I accomplished most of my individual goals which was to be GSC defensive player of the week, make the All-Conference team, have over multiple interceptions, and be one of the vocal leaders on defense.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Smart, Consistent, and Fast.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I’ll be training in Oak Grove, Mississippi for my NFL pro day with one of the best trainers in the business.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When studying film, I look for the formation, personnel, and down and distance. Then, I try to see what type of speed the Wide Receiver has to know whether or not I can play tight and physical or play off. I also try to figure out if the Wide Receiver give any tips on what route he’s running and how many times he’s targeted a game. The last thing I pay attention to, is what the Wide Receiver does when he is not the primary Wide Receiver.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
My passion for the game definitely separates me from other players. I’m real smart in the secondary. I know what’s expected, so that makes me play 10x faster. I feel like that also separates me from others in my position.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I’ll bring enthusiasm, leadership, passion, and flexibility. I feel like the ability to be able to play Cornerback and Nickel will help elevate a team’s defense in a good way.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I’m hungry. This my dream. Been working all my life for this opportunity and moment. Whichever team I land on will definitely be getting a steal! A true baller that knows the game well and plays it at the exceptional level.
