What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My main goal of this season was to win another National Championship with my team. This was really the only goal i wanted, we fell short of that but I had some individual success. I wanted to be an All-American, but I managed to receive All-Region Honors and as well as 1st Team All-Conference awards. I’m just very grateful that God allowed me to stay healthy enough to have one last ride with my boys.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I believe that the extra year gave me a chance to get bigger and perfect my craft. I trained my tail off during the off-season and I believe I did everything I could to prepare for the year.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I was team captain this year, so I think that shows a lot about my character. I’m an overachiever, and I just flat out love the game. I have high standards from my teammates and I expect the same in return.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
Kicking is 30% physical and 70% mental/technical. my focus point when I study my film is to make sure that everything aligns perfectly, whether that’s keeping my head down as I kick, or making sure my plant foot is in the correct spot. All in all, I’m a perfectionist and I strive for perfection even in the film room.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I play with a passion that is unmatched from other guys. I wasn’t highly recruited, and I only had a few years to prove the player I am. I play with a chip on my shoulder, and I will always hope to have competition and compete.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I have specific training methods that I typically do during the off-season. It’s mainly a routine of dieting and training. I try to stay as active in the weight room as I do on the field.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My strengths that I bring to the table is that I’m a leader on and off the field. My abilities are my accuracy and higher ceilings to get even stronger for longer kicks.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
At the end of the day, I know my capabilities and I know what I can bring. I know I have the stuff for the next level. My tape and my accomplishments speak for themselves, I believe that I had a great career here these past few years. I’m humble and thankful for the opportunity that was given to me to even go to college, now I’m just hoping a professional team sees the diamond in the rough in me as well. Thank you and Go Lions #ToTheTop
