Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
Heading into my senior season, my biggest goal was to go to a bowl game. That’s all that really mattered to me, all of the individual stats would come if I did that. Luckily both happened this past season, we went to a bowl game and I played well.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
If I had to describe my playing style in only three words, I would have to say ball hawking safety. Throughout my college career, I forced a lot of turn overs and always was around the ball.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
This off-season heading into the draft and my pro day, I focused on getting faster and changing my body. I got the opportunity to train at MJP and they are great at getting guys faster, so they worked with me a lot on my speed. Also, this offseason I cleaned up my technique training with Clay Mack just trying to show scouts I can play the safety position as well as nickel and even the corner spot if needed.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When studying film, I try to find small things on the opposing team, like quarterback tendencies pre snap and even wide outs. A lot of plays can be determined pre snap.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I think the biggest thing that separates me from others at my position is the plays I make on the ball. I think I have great ball skills and I’m always around the ball.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I think a big strength that I can bring to a team’s defense is play making ability. Every team needs a guy in the back end that can force turnovers and I’m that guy. Also, my work ethic, I’m always looking for ways to improve my game no matter if it’s watching film or anything on the field.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
My final pitch to a NFL scout is if you draft me, I will cause turnovers for you team.
