Frank Ginda: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Frank Ginda
School: San Jose State University
Position: Linebacker
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 245

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

Win our conference, go to a bowl game, lead in tackles/TFLs and turnovers, be a captain, and make memories with my brothers on and off the field.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Aggressive, Instinctive, Reliable.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I am training at EXOS in San Diego. I am currently training to get bigger, faster, and stronger. I have also been working with a Linebacker specialist in order to clean up my footwork and pass rushing.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

First, I look at the team’s top personnels. Second, I look at the formations they like to run and pass the ball out of. Third, I divide the field up and look where they like to throw and run the ball on certain downs, hashes, center of the field, red zone, etc. Lastly, I study the players. I look for key players that help me identify the play pre-snap. I watch so much film that I know my opponent’s playbook just as well as they do.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I would have to say my football IQ is off the charts. I am quick to diagnose plays, know where to fit in the run game, and read passing concepts well. Another big strength in my game is playing off blockers. I do a good job of getting their hands off me fairly fast. Lastly, I give one hundred percent effort. I play sideline to sideline and will make a play anywhere on the field. Off the field, I am able to constantly give back to others. Community service is something I have always enjoyed.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

If you draft Frank Ginda, you are getting a blue collar football player that is willing to impose his will for the team’s overall success. I put in countless hours to prepare myself for games every single week. I always pride myself on hard work because it always beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. I will represent your organization with pride and class. In the community, I will impact those in need and the youth. I respect everyone I talk to and always leave a smile on someone’s face. Lastly, your getting a Linebacker that can make plays anywhere on the field as well as play anything on special teams. Allow me to help your defense and special teams take its game to another level!
