Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
As a team, our goal was to win our program’s 34th WIAC championship and to compete for a national championship, both of which were accomplished. Individually, my goal was to be a 1st Team All-Conference player as well as earning All-American honors for the 2nd time, only accomplishing the first of those two.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches would say that I’m a player they can trust to do their job, a playmaker who “has a nose for the football”, and someone who gives maximum effort every single play. My teammates would say that I’m accountable and encouraging, wanting the best for everyone involved.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
During film study I like to focus on my technique to limit wasted movement. Making sure my eyes are disciplined on assignment and aligning in the right spot help put me in a position to make plays. In terms of opponent, focusing on receiver tendencies that I may matchup with are important. Where is he aligned? What concepts do they run when he’s here?
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
One thing that separates me from other prospects is my coachability. I’m always open to feedback and adjustments knowing there’s an opportunity to learn and grow as a player. I pride myself on not making the same mistake twice.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My plan is to seek an opportunity training at ETS Performance in La Crosse to continue to develop my skills and make sure I put my best foot forward if an opportunity presents itself.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
On the field, I will provide a great sense of confidence for myself and those around me, which crosses over to other areas of life. Protecting the team is another strength that I will bring, leading by example and doing the right things off the field are key to success.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
If I were presented with an opportunity, that team would get a person who is ready to take full advantage. I have always held myself and those around me to a high standard which has led to a lot of success at every level I’ve been at. If given the chance, I have the utmost confidence that my skills and abilities can make a positive impact both on and off the field.
