What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My goals were to dominate on my level and based on my film and highlights I feel like I’ve done that. And to also graduate this year.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I made the most of the opportunity by training and doing my best when I got the opportunity to do so.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say that I am a team player and hard worker, I put the team first and I want to win at all cost.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I look for tendencies from the D-line and the footwork of linebackers, I watch D-line movement to see the tendency of their movement and the DC play call by how they slant or when they stunt. Linebackers footwork so I know how to maneuver in and out of the hole and how far or close they are playing up.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
God has blessed me with an IT factor and that means I’m going to get it done regardless of the odds given the opportunity, and win at all cost mentality.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am continuously preparing my mind and my body on and off the field to be ready when the opportunity comes.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My personality I’m a happy person at all times and I believe there always a chance I’m very positive, even when the chips are stacked against me.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
If I could sell myself in a brief statement. People should know that I’m the David of the Goliath of football. I’ve been counted out and overlooked because of my height my entire life. But every time, without fail, when I’m put in the game, I make plays! I’m a playmaker. And I always put my team before myself. God has gifted me with that IT factor. I get it done even when my opportunities are scarce. I’m charismatic. l’m an overcomer, I’ve had to overcome my whole life. Years from now you’ll want to be the person that said, I took the chance on EJ Thompson. And he didn’t disappoint me.
