Name: Dylan Thomas

Position: WR

Height: 6’1”
Weight: 200

What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

One of my reasons for choosing to transfer to Northern Colorado was because I wanted to learn a pro style offense and learn pro style routes. I knew that learning a pro style offense would be critical for my chances at the next level. I definitely accomplished that goal and I’m happy I did because now I have knowledge that I didn’t in prior seasons.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I needed this extra year of eligibility because it allowed me to find a new home and work on my craft. I dealt with injuries in my college career so having this extra year to just get healthy and focus on my body was huge for me. Allowing teams to see me play this year was something they needed to see to verify that I was healthy and could compete at a high level.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I think my coaches would tell you I’m a listener and someone who shows by example. My teammates would tell you that I’m a playmaker and a good teammate who chose to lead by example.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When I’m watching film, I always look at my stance first to see if I’m ever standing straight up. Then i always check to see if I’m false stepping with my front foot. After that I mainly focus on my pad level and chin angles on my releases. I’m a player that can make contested catches but I see that if I can tighten up some things like my pad level when I’m accelerating out of a route it will allow me to get easier catches and yac. I like to have a good idea of what coverages I’ll be getting because being in the slot, the quicker i know the coverage the quicker I know what I need to do to get open.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I think what separates me is just the type of person that I am. I’m a person who won’t bring any drama to an organization and simply wants to continue to get better and play the game I love.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

This off-season I have been training back home with a personal trainer. Having someone that can really pay attention and dissect my movements during workouts are important and It allows me to get the feedback and apply it.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I think one of my main strengths is just being reliable when a play needs to be made. I’m someone that feels if I touch the ball x-number of times I will make something happen.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Any team that takes a chance on me won’t regret it, I’m ready to put the work in. I feel like I’m just getting started and if it’s in God’s plan for me, I’m ready for the opportunity.
