Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

Playing at UNA, we’ve won 4 consecutive GSC championships, and played in the National Championship my Junior year. My senior year, I definitely wanted to leave with a National Championship and a 5th consecutive GSC championship.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Tenacious, Passionate, Exciting.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I’ll be training at a facility where I can improve on my explosiveness, speed, agility and preparing to become a better football player athletically and mentally because it’s more than just being an athlete.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

I look for favorite formations, which routes are coming out of which set, which formation is more pass heavy or run heavy, where are the Quarterback’s eyes going when he’s throwing, if the Wide Receiver is more of a shifty Wide Receiver or actually a speedster, so I could determine if I want to back pedal faster or keep hot feet. I also look at the Lineman, as a Safety I need to get a pass block or run block read, so I can fill my alley if it’s a run.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

My size, athleticism, and physicality for the game. Teams may look at me and think they can vertically stretch the field on me, but my athleticism allows me to play to the speed of a faster Wide Receiver. I’m a Safety, but I’m physical enough to come down in the box and strike a Lineman or guard a Tight End or a Running Back. Also, just knowing the game. I love studying film and I make a lot of checks for my defense. Just wanting to learn the game and study football is what I love to do.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

On the field, you’ll get a player who can adjust and do what a team needs to win. Whether it’s play high Safety, box Safety, cover Tight Ends, or cover Running Backs. You’ll get someone who is extremely vocal in relaying calls and checks to his teammates. Off the field, you’ll get someone who is very likable and definitely multicultural. You’ll get someone who gives back to people in need and someone who has spent countless hours volunteering in events with social needs, lower income communities, and other events.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I’m the type of player you’d want on your team because I love this game. I love to win the right way and I’ll do anything to prove that. Whether it’s play Free Safety, Strong Safety, Nickel, Linebacker, run down on punt, kick off, block on punt return, or kick return, I’ll do anything to contribute to a team to help us obtain the main goal, which is a Super Bowl. I’ll come to work every day positive and ready to work and you’ll get someone who loves and enjoys his job everyday!
