Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

In my final collegiate season I set out to be a more dominate offensive lineman in the run and pass-game. By recording more knock downs in my pass pro this season than any other season that I have played, I was able to accomplish the goal that I set for myself at the beginning of the season.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates would highlight my aggression as an offensive lineman. As my coaches and teammates have seen on game-day and in practice, I have a relentless mindset on not only doing my job but physically dominating my opponent.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, the thing that I focus on to improve my game is the trends of my opponent and the ways in which I can pick up on my opponents tendencies to be in the right position of a block at the right time. Noticing things such as; stances, foot position, and hand placement can all potentially improve my game and help me to have an upper hand on my opponent.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

The thing the separates me from other pro prospects at my position is my love for the game of football. I love to practice, I love to watch film, I love to be around my teammates, and I loved to be coached. Having that love for the entire process and not just winning is what sets me apart from most pro prospects.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

During this offseason, I have been training with strength and fitness specialist in the Chicago area. I intend on continuing my training as they have taught and instructed while incorporating cardio workouts through offensive line footwork and drills.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My love to come in and go to work everyday on and off the football field would help any team get better. I strive to wake up every morning with a positive attitude about my job as a professional athlete and I intend on dominating my position and my job on each play. I will not only make the person across from me better but I will make my position group better as a whole by bringing energy to the offensive line room.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Dontae Keys is a player that loves to be coached and a player that loves the game of football. His extensive collegiate resume proves that he’s capable of playing on any level and he has the tools to dominate at the line of scrimmage.
