Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I wanted to maximize my preseason preparation to exceed my coaches expectations for the upcoming season. During spring ball I was recognized by sportswriter Hunter Hurst who wrote “the name to watch on defense is David Faccone who seemingly lived in the backfield.” My goal was to lead the d-line in tackles this season as well as record numerous sacks and TFL’s. My second goal was to take a leadership role on the team as well as be an impact player on special teams. I was elected to the teams Captains Counsel was second in tackles on the d-line as well as played on all 4 special teams in back to back seasons. My final goal was to be selected to play in a bowl game. During the season I was selected and played in the FAF Senior Bowl in New York.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My head coach at College of DuPage, Matt Foster said it best in a newspaper interview about me. “He’s a lunch pail and hard hat type of guy who shows up everyday and works his tail off, he put himself on a whole different level by having the biggest gains in strength and speed.” I’m use to adversity. Adversity, has always been motivation to me and I thrive in a highly competitive atmosphere. My teammates would say that I am one of the strongest and most explosive players who is willing to sacrifice personal stats for team success as well as having the ability to make big time plays.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When reviewing previous film I make it a habit to critique my personal performance and implement any corrective or additional drills at the very next practice. Looking at upcoming opponents once familiar with their offense I look for their favorite situational plays and “go to” players which helps me discover their tendencies. I isolate particular players I will be facing to make sure I will have the advantage to dominate or counter techniques they use. On KOR I was assigned to take out the opposing teams best player and render their scheme ineffective.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My ability to play the edge, linebacker and other positions make me uniquely versatile. I have the strength and explosiveness to handle offensive tackles and be a downhill inside linebacker as well as the quickness and reaction time to contain the edge and drop back in coverage. I am extremely effective on special teams in terms of anticipation and execution.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I have committed to three months of training at X3 Performance in Nashville, Tennessee. They are one of the premier pro day / combine training facilities in the country. Their NFL draft preparation program is six days a week. I have adapted and implemented their nutrition and recovery programs as well as measured and evaluated speed and strength training. I believe this is the best preparatory training facility in the country.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I love taking the violence of the game and turning it into controlled ability, which makes me fearless on the field. I am a team player that is much more productive than stats may imply and my versatility and physical profile indicates my best production is in the future. Off the field I am a level headed locker room leader always helpful to teammates, always on Lombardi time and a relentless student of the game.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

In addition to having the required physical skill set to play at the pro level, I also possess the mental capacity to execute and attain the goals and high standards needed to succeed. The organization that selects me will receive a highly versatile player that will exceed any expectations placed on me. They will also receive a player with no boundaries on focus, drive and preparation who will make an impact on all levels of the defense.
