What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

Goals I set for my senior year were to get back to back first team All-Conference honors, which I was able to do. I set out to be an All-American as well, still waiting to see if I accomplished that. Lastly, I wanted to go out with a conference championship and make the national playoff, unfortunately, we did not accomplish that goal.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I was able to add to my resume, put more stuff on film and show what I have to offer to any teams that may be interested. Also, I got one year better as a teammate, my IQ is better now as well.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I feel like they would say I have their backs, and that I’m a passionate football player who wants to win. I think they would say I’m dependable and willing to put in the work.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I try and make sure I’m understanding what they like to do out of different formations, recognizing when different things are coming. I watch subtle things my match up does, whether it be how he’s aligned, where he’s leaning, etc., to try and make my job a little easier on game days.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I would say my versatility, in my film you’ll see me lining up all over the defensive line, making plays all over the field. I would also say the want I have and the willingness to do what’s necessary to get to that next level. Lastly, I would say my love for the game, I feel as though you can’t do something for a living if you’re not in love with it.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My plan is get faster, and work on my technique. Perfecting my craft in that aspect. If I’m in contact with an organization, and they asked something of me, I’d be willing to do and transform my body however I needed to in order to help them win.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

First and foremost, I believe I’m a far better person than I am a football player. I’m dependable and love to learn and get better. As far as what I’d bring to the field, would be a versatile football player. Someone you can line up in different spots along the defensive line and produce TFLs, sacks, batted passes, etc.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

If you’re wanting a team guy, someone who’s smart, a good football player, and good locker room guy, I can be all of those things. Just working towards my opportunity, and will be excited and ready to work for whoever that may be.
