Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I wanted to be a back-to-back All-American after being named an All-American in my junior year. I was named an All-American for the second time. My other goal was for my team to win the national championship, we fell short going 9-1 and the regular season and we did not get a playoffs bid.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I’m a quiet guy. I like to lead by example rather than yelling at someone. I believe that this is the best way to teach others. I do what I am told to do but at the same time, If I see a play develop, by all means, I’m going to go make that play.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

First, I always look at my first 2 steps off the ball because as a defensive line one wrong step and the play is over. I then look at my hand play in correlation to the type of block that I am getting from the offensive line.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I believe that I can play both inside and out. I love playing in the trenches while at the same time if I have to rush off the edge I can. Don’t underestimate me because of my size. I use it to my advantage. My arms are also longer than most linemen that are my size.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My plan is to cross-train as a defensive end edge rusher run-stopper and a 3 tech run-stopper pass rusher.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am very competitive. I’m a go-getter. I have never been the most naturally talented athlete. Everything that I have earned, I worked my tail off for it. I know that nothing comes easy in life and that’s what keeps fuel in my tank when I step on the field. Off the field, I am a film guy. I spend more time watching my own film than my opponents because I have to get better everyday! Also, I love to do volunteer work so if I’m not playing football or with family, most of the time I’m somewhere helping others.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?

Just give me one shot and I promise I won’t let you down!
