Cinque Sweeting: 2022 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Cinque Sweeting
School: Slippery Rock
Position: WR/RB

Height: 5’10”
Weight: 195

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I wanted to continue to show my ability to be a dynamic playmaker. It was an important focus to be more dynamic on returns and screens. I also set a goal out to play outside at receiver at well and was able to show that I can be used at any receiver position on the field.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

Having that extra year just allowed me more time to work on my craft and continue to improve my knowledge of the game. I believe I took advantage of the extra year by improving on my numbers in my final collegiate year from a breakout 2019 season which put me on the radar.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches often refer to me as another coach/second QB on the field. My coaches have a lot of trust in what I’m seeing on the field and come to me throughout the game asking what plays should we run. My teammates would say I’m passionate about my craft. I took pride in being available at practice and always working on my craft. I made sure in 2021 to be a full participant at every practice which I did. I also took pride in being there for the incoming freshman and younger players letting them know they can come to me about anything as I was once in there shoes.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

Being apart of a great program such as Slippery Rock helped me become more decisive in how I study film. Our Offensive Coordinator Adam Neugebauer, did an excellent job of providing in-depth cut-ups of down and distance, formation based and field zone based plays of the opposing team we were playing. This helped showed certain tendencies of the opposing defensive coordinator we were facing and what type of looks we expected to get. After I got an idea of their philosophy, I then would study individual matchups to identify players weaknesses and strengths. Finally I would go back and watch my last game and identify what would an opposing DB be looking to attack based off this film and work on that throughout the week in practice.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My versatility, route running and knowledge of the game is what separates me from other prospects. I played Running Back majority of my football career. It wasn’t until I got to college where I started playing both WR/RB and was able to be a athlete and play all over the field taking snaps at QB, H-Back, WR, RB, KR and PR. I’m the only active NCAA player to have 1,000 Receiving Yards, 1,000 Rushing Yards and 1,000 Kick Return Yards in 4 years.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

For my pro day, I was training at Exos in Pensacola which is considered one of the top facilities. Now that pro day is over, I have been working out down in Miami at a couple different facilities to continue to improve my strength. I have also been blessed to work on my receiver skills with former NFL receiver Reidel Anthony leading up to the draft.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

On the field I believe that my versatility and dynamic ability to make a play at any time helps me stand out. Off the field I believe my ability to be accountable and dependable will stand out off the field. I take pride in representing not only myself but my family name and organization at a high standard. During my collegiate career it was a focus of mines to not only attack the field but the classroom as well which helped me earned Academic All-American as well.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

All I need is an opportunity. I’m going to be someone who comes in from day 1 and represent your organization to the highest standard. Your going to get someone who is willing to do whatever is needed to help the team succeed. I know I have the ability to play at the highest level, all I need is a shot.
