Chris Blair: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Chris Blair
School: Elon University
Position: Defensive Back/Outside Linebacker
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 215

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

Turn the program around by having a winning season. Compete for a conference championship.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Smart, Relentless, Versatile.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I’ll be training with my Uncle and Dad.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

First is Down and Distance. Then, formations and what are the tendencies in each. I watch splits of the Receivers to see the spacing on common routes. Last, I try to pick up any cues from the Oline such as their stance on run and pass plays.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me is I can play many positions. I’ve played CB, SS, FS, Spur, and OLB over the years in college. Not only can I play them, but perfect each technique that I was coached.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I will do my job while leading by example. I am very coachable and a great tackler that makes few mistakes. I want to uplift others and continue to have a positive impact on people’s lives.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I understand that playing in the league is not all about me. It’s about working as a team towards a common goal. It’s about being an example to people and show them that hard work pays off. Through my God given talents, I will be able to be a positive impact on the team and organization.
