Name: Carson Bobo

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My goals were to win the Ivy league championship, be a great leader and quality captain for the team, and to be an All-Ivy Selection. I succeeded in being an All-Ivy League selection and a great leader and captain for the team.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say that I am a mismatch. I have the ability to win in the pass game because of my athleticism, being a big target that has great separation skills makes it hard for many different styles of defenders to guard me. In the run game, I am able to do many things like block defensive ends, wrap for linebackers, and block on the perimeter.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying myself in the pass game, I look at how I could have affected my defender more with whatever route I was running, and also see if I read the coverage correctly in the moment. In the run game I look at my footwork, hand placement, and balance. When studying the opponent, I have to know what their coverages look like, and I also have to study tendencies of DEs, LBs, and safeties because I know I will have to block all of them at some point.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
The mixture of athleticism and size is common at the tight end position, but I also have the ability to beat linebackers with speed and corners/safeties with size. I also have an extremely high football IQ so I know I will be able to learn the new playbook easily and be able to tear defenses apart. All of this mixed with an eagerness to get physical in the run game is rare.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am training with TEST Football Academy in Miramar, Florida alongside some of the best talent coming out of our draft class.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I have the ability to learn from those who have been in the business longer, I am extremely dedicated to perfecting my craft, and I am driven to make the team the best it can be.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I have a special type of dedication to greatness. Being an Operations Research and Financial Engineering major at Princeton while focusing all of my time on football was extremely taxing and challenging, but when I put my mind to something I do it. There were times when I thought it wouldn’t be possible, but I put my head down and kept grinding. Now that I am a Princeton graduate, I am finally able to put 100% of my efforts towards football, which is what I have wanted to do all along. I’m ready to be the best version of myself for a team.
