Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

My number one goal was to win a CAA championship with my teammates. Unfortunately we happened to take a step back in that regard and underperformed a bit. More personally, I had aspired to build on being All-Caa as a snapper in 2018 which i was successful in, being both all-league as a specialist and all-american as a snapper (http://philsteele.com).

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates alike would recognize me as someone who showed up to work every day on time, gave 100% effort between the white lines and in the weight room, and did the right thing in the community and the classroom. I worked hard every day even when I was banged up and always had my teammates best interest in mind.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

As a specialist I have to tackle film a bit differently than others. I spend a lot of my time analyzing myself and seeing where my form can change to improve performance but I also make sure I know what type of look I’m getting from the other team. For example it’s nice to know ahead of time what situations they like to run a block and which they like to run a hold-up return.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I have the NFL build that some other guys at my position lack. That will allow me to contain to add strength as i get older and put me in a great position to improve even further as a snapper and as an athlete. I’m also willing to do things beyond just being a snapper. I ran routes on scout team early in my career and spotted balls/snapped to the quarterbacks during drill work for my whole career.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

Business as usual for the most part. Still snapping as often as i would in season and working with my college strength coach to improve strength and dexterity. Also working with my old high school track coach to improve speed and agility.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

On the field I am a competitor and put my body on the line to get the job done. I lead with a quiet confidence that my teammates can follow. Off the field, I have a good work ethic that drives me to do what I need to do to make sure that I am performing at the top of my ability. I also love to give back to my community and spend time with fans after the game.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?

I’ve always been underestimated my whole career and every time I’m told I can’t do something, I do one thing better. This is just my latest mountain to climb and I can’t wait to reach the peak.
