Andy Struttmann: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Andy Struttmann
School: Duquesne University
Position: Outside Linebacker/Fullback
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 245

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

It was an outright Championship season or bust for us. I was more concerned about team accolades, rather than the individual.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Relentless, Physical, Smart.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I will be training at the world renown Westside Barbell in Columbus, Ohio with Tom Barry, along with speed and strength training at Duquesne University. Rehabilitation and functional range release will be done with John Quint. My diet plan, and prepping will be done with Mike Davies.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

I look for “Tells” and tendencies from opposing players. First step off the ball is always a main focal point of mine. That first step can tell you a lot about the play that is unfolding. Also, I watch the player I will be lining up against in different formations getting a mental picture on how to negate the play. Film work and practice done correctly, leads to success on game day.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

My Physicality, my intelligence, and my motor. I take pride in my hustle to the ball. I’ve always been taught there is no substitute for hard work and hustle.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My work ethic and my character. I was raised to hold myself to the highest standard in everything I do. If you’re going to do something, you should do it to the best of your ability.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

That I will always be the hardest worker in the room and I’m here to win. Team success is always at the top of my priorities, whatever I have to do to help the team win is what I will do. Whoever gives me a chance will not be disappointed!
