Name: Alijah Jackson
School: Robert Morris University
Position: RB
Height: 5-8
Weight: 165
Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The biggest for us a team was to win a conference championship and get a bid to the playoffs. For my personal goals, I wanted to be first team all conference and rush for 1000 yards. Since we had a fought season this year, I wasn’t able to achieve any of my goals but I still played my hardest and enjoyed my last year of college football.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say that I am a workhorse. I’m not a huge vocal leader but I lead by example and put my head down and work.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I watch film on my opponents I focus on their tendencies. I study the small things they do such as the stance the linebackers are in when they’re blitzing or not. When watching film on myself, I look at what I did better like if I could’ve hit a certain hole or if I missed a block.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I am versatile running back. I have great hands coming out of the backfield. I can also be thrown in the slot. Since I not a big back, I believe I do a good job hiding behind the line which allows me to be patient when hitting the holes. I can also play special teams!
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am staying out here in Pittsburgh for training. I plan on finding a NFL prep training program to improve my testing. My main focuses are getting faster and putting on weight.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Besides my skill set, I give great energy as a teammate. I am student of the game so I’m always willing to learn and get better. Like I said earlier I’m not a big vocal get in your face type of leader, I think actions speak louder than words so I lead by coming to work everyday and work.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I’m going to compete no matter what and work harder than everyone else. I’m a diamond in the rough despite being under 200 pounds, I’m a dog. I’m always a student of the game so I’m going to be a sponge and learn everything I can to be the best I can be.
