Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

Coming into Chapman my sophomore year as a Junior College transfer from Saddleback College, I had to fight my way up the depth chart and played key roles for the team in our 10-1 record setting year. I set goals for myself at the beginning of the 2019 season to be a captain of my team by the time I am a senior and to build my teammates up around me. I was voted captain of the team going into my senior year and I then went on to have the best season of my 16 year career. I set out to lead the SCIAC in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns, which I did. I had 56 catches for 915 yards and 11 touchdowns which broke Chapman’s single season touchdown record. I finished my career with over 1000 yards and 18 Touchdowns in 31 games over 3 seasons.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates would say that I am a 100% team guy that is going to pursue excellence in myself and will my team to victory. I play with a lot of emotion and care immensely about the success of our program. I was in the 1000 pound club which I thank our strength coach as it was a life long goal of mine. I graduated from Mission Viejo High school which has so much tradition built into that I am just so grateful to be apart of. Going through that program made me the player I am today and I thank the All-Time greatest Coach Bob Johnson who created the winning culture that drives my life and my need for success on and off the field. A coach will notice that I am extremely focused on the details and I am very fixated on the art of being a receiver to perfect my craft as much as possible because I have the drive to be better every day.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

While studying film I will focus on my routes heavily and how I can create better releases against certain types of corners and coverages because that is the art of being a crafty receiver which is how I like to play. I can play in the slot and throw my head in to block linebackers and open up the run game as well as get open in the middle of the field and run every route to get open against man and zone. I played a lot of outside at Chapman which created my best statistical season and i was voted 2nd team all region. Playing outside has made me a well rounded receiver because it has made me become quicker off the line in press and avoiding collisions down the field to make plays on the ball. Film is the key to knowing your enemy on the other side of the ball and know their tendencies to give you any advantage you can take to beat them because every play is a hand fight that I must win.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

What separates me from other prospects is that I know what it takes to be at the next level. I have a great support staff around me that has given me the ability to excel individually and my drive to make something out of myself. I was an under recruited guy out of high school because I really just wasn’t there yet maturity wise and my time in college to grow up and become a man has been beneficial for me because I know that my lifelong dream of playing pro football is within reach and all I need is a chance on a team.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My off-season regiment has been strength training with my trainer which is tailored to my goals on becoming faster and a stronger player and I am running routes with college and current NFL players through 3DQB which is making me a smarter receiver learning from the other wideouts that I am running routes with and seeing how these NFL qbs want the routes ran. I am in shape and ready for a try out for any level of professional football and would be grateful for any opportunity.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My strengths and abilities that will stand out are my loyalty to the team and will give all of myself to help the team in any way I could. I am the type of player that just wants to be in the game and will play any spot on special teams and actually love being out there for those game changing plays.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Signing me to your team and taking a chance on a division 3 wide receiver would be the best decision an owner or coach could make bringing me on the team because I will build relationships with everyone in the building and will start working immediately with the QB to build timing and chemistry with the offense and dive so deep into the playbook. All I’m looking for is a chance to show my God given ability to play for your team because I believe in my heart that I have what it takes to play at the professional level and it is my lifelong dream to achieve and then give everything I have to make a roster spot to contribute to the team. Taking a chance on me could discover the next Julian Edelman.
