Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

The biggest and most important goal that I set for this past season was to win a South Atlantic Conference championship. I was willing to do whatever I had to do for our team to win a title. We were successful in winning the division championship, however we came up short in the last seconds of the conference championship game. When looking at individual goals set for myself I wanted to top any goals that I had achieved the previous year I wanted to be a two time all conference, all region, and all American selection. I was successful in reaching these goals as well as being a division offensive player of the year.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I believe my coaches describe me as a “blue collar guy” and a “Swiss army knife”. This is because I show up everyday no matter rain, snow, or shine with a positive attitude and give 110% day in and day out. Whatever I need to do for the team to win, whatever is best for the team is what will be done. When referring to the “Swiss army knife” my teammates and coaches are talking about my versatility and ability to learn and play multiple positions, in our offense at Mars Hill I played Full back, H-Back, Tight End, slot receiver, wide out and even some running back. Lastly, I asked one of my teammates if he could use one word to describe me as a teammate. He chose the word “unselfish”, and described me as the kind of teammate that would outwork you quietly, and not care about anything except for what was best for the team and winning. In this game you have to be a fierce competitor, I always say to my boys, “you gotta hate losing, more than you love winning”.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film I always try to see the tendencies of a defensive end or outside linebacker that I am going to block, what his favorite moves are, which foot he puts forward, how much he slants, hand placement, etc. Another big thing I focus on is coverage tendencies, which coverages the defense runs, how often they run them and I also study the habits of the safety or linebackers that will be covering me. This helps slow the game down and make it more natural. When looking at practice film I try to be very self critical in my steps, hand and helmet placement, and decision making.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

Something that separates me from other prospects at this position is my ability to learn and understand a playbook and coverages. I have the ability to learn very quickly and use that knowledge on the field. This allows me to be very versatile in learning different positions and being able to go back and forth from positions throughout the duration of a game/season. Another thing that separates me from other prospects is my sneaky athleticism, I have elite speed for my size and the ability to play in the box as well as play in space as a slot or wide receiver. I also bring a good route running foundation to the table.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

Not much has changed from any other offseason. I have been implementing a nutrition as well as a strength/speed training program to help get me in the best and fastest shape I can be in when my number is called.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I believe that when one person works hard it has a domino effect on others. The same goes with enthusiasm and positivity. In the locker room or on the field I will always try to be the hardest worker as well as the most positive person. I have tried to be a humble leader throughout my career and lead by example. If I am given an opportunity to play at the next level, I will continue that in being the most positive and hard working person on the team.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I have worked hard for this moment, my measurable’s in a pro day and on film will determine whether I can play in a professional league and have the ability to compete with the pro’s. I believe that I can play, I am just asking for an opportunity to show the world I can.
