Tishawn Steele: 2022 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Tishawn “Ty” Steele
School: Mayville State University
Position: ATH
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 185

What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

My goal was to become a better leader and help the team develop any way possible. I wanted to have that big brother role to the younger guys. And I wanted to be an anchor on special teams and impact the game when I’m on the field.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I had time to mature and develop my role. I’m a plug and play type of player so that I have to be ready for any and everything.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

They would say I’m a great guy to be around. Funny outgoing and will be honest with you no matter what. When it’s time to work I’m clocking in and doing exactly that. But I like to have fun and brighten the mood while doing that.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I look at opposing teams tendencies. I also watch past games on the opposing team and see what other teams did that made them successful against them. The goal is to win your 1on1 matchup, so I aim to do just that.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

It’s kinda weird to say, but I played 3rd and long edge rush, but my body type doesn’t scream DE off the edge I use my size to my advantage believe it or not I get the job done. I’m a hard worker, I don’t make excuses why things don’t happen I make a way for them to happen.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

Well I have to work to keep the money coming lol. On top of that, I’m just going to lift and stay active with my mobility in case the opportunity to play again shows itself.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I’m a hard worker and I don’t complain. I embrace my role with passion no matter what it may be, practice squad special teams, etc.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

If your looking for a great guy that’s going to work and give his all taking no plays off I’m the guy for the job. If you think because of my vitals I’m not the man for the job, test me.
