What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goal was to WIN22. That to us is winning our 22nd conference championship for all the past, present, and future Aztec warriors and leaving a legacy with my class. We fell just short of winning 22 but were able to win 12 games, including a bowl win which was huge for the program.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I had a crazy path to SDSU that took me through 4 levels of college football, so the Covid year allowed me to start, develop as a player, and put good things on tape.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
Fast, Physical, and intelligent. I got a thirst for knowledge, and my teammates feel my love in everything I do.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I look for weaknesses through an opponent’s eyes, and then I look for ways to utilize my strengths on critical downs in the game.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I’ve got impressive speed and ability for the position. I use my intelligence to learn systems relatively fast, and I have a real passion for this game that leads me to be interested in even the special teams aspect of the sport.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Weights, running, and Position work are the foundations of my training. Still, I love diversifying my routine with different movements, from calisthenics to boxing or yoga. That’s why I work with many different people: Boost Performance, Get It Done, coach Dennis, EBS performance, Ground Zero, Prototype players, and more. I’m always trying to get work and have fun doing it.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I bring versatility on and off the field. I have experience learning multiple systems, and I have experience working with all kinds of people from multiple teams and fast-food work. I’m also excited to take on more philanthropic endeavors within the community because bouncing around hindered my ability to make strides in that area of my life.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Whichever team brings me into the building will get all of me and my passion for learning how to win games.
