Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I initially had hopes of winning a conference championship with the team and making a new years six bowl game. I’m a team oriented player so the goals I set for the team will always trump personal accolades and accomplishments in my book.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I could best be described as a dependable player and a supportive teammate. I’m the one when you turn on the film you know what to expect from an effort and attention to detail perspective. The ability to be a dependable teammate is second to none, and crucial in the most heated moments of a game that can ultimately determine the result of the contest. My teammates would consider me a genuine, hard-nosed player. There is a certain level of both focus and willingness to lay your body on the line that it takes in order to thrive as an offensive lineman.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I focus on the base scheme as well as the personal tendencies of the matchups I have for the week. Keying in on things like stance and start, primary rush moves as well as alignment aide with being a step in front of the competition. Making sure to watch weekly blitz tapes as well help with understanding the types of stunts and pressures you will receive on pivotal downs in the game. From there, I think of ways in which I can best use the training I am given to win my one on one matchup. I’m a firm believer in the notion that winning your individual matchup can and will show when the outcome is finally determined.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I would say my athleticism and willingness to be coached hard. Through my college career, I have been exposed to a wealth of knowledge and coaches that have succeeded on both the college and pro levels. I made it a duty to pick their brains on what it takes to improve daily, and ultimately what it would take to achieve my end goal of becoming the best player I can. I‘m not afraid to ask questions either. If something doesn’t resonate as to why a certain technique could be better suited than another, or questions arise with scheme and structure, I make sure to ask.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

This offseason I plan to study the moves of pass rushers across the league on critical downs. The pass rushers in the league are far more versatile and have a wider array of moves to choose from on any given rush. Understanding my personal deficiencies and addressing them this off season will prove worthwhile in my quest of joining the NFL. I also plan on paying attention to both my diet and strengthening my core.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I think my selfless nature will really show as time permits. Whatever it takes it order to manifest my dream and play in the nfl, i’m willing to do. I think my ability to adapt to a new offense and the speed of the game will also show itself once granted the opportunity. I know everyone at the next level has talent, but the ability to digest and thrive in a lengthy playbook can make all the difference between making and not making a nfl roster. As far as on the field, my ability to create a clean pocket for the quarterback to maneuver in and make reads will be critical and eye opening to scouts who may not initially have been interested. My length and ability to use my length in both the run and pass game will prove dividend to whatever position coach is willing to work with me and mold me into someone worthy of playing on Sundays. The record will show that off the field distractions aren’t apart of my athletic DNA.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?

I believe I have the size, athleticism, and understanding of the game it takes in order to make it as a professional. My meticulous approach to the game and my ability to adapt to new conditions, a new environment and new teammates will not phase me. I look forward to this next phase of my athletic career and embrace it with open arms. By no means is my game perfect, but I have the mental fortitude and the willingness to be coaches on the minute details that it takes to prevail. I think my athleticism, football IQ and grit will show scouts and GMs looking to upgrade their offensive line and build towards the future that I am a worthwhile investment.
