Reid Sinnett: 2020 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Reid Sinnett
School: San Diego
Position: QB
Height:  6’4″
Weight: 225

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

The goals that I set at the beginning of the year were to have an undefeated conference record and individually it was to be the conference offensive player of the year. I was a finalist for the Walter Payton award and received some first place votes which was a great accomplishment that I didn’t set out for at the beginning of the year.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I think they would highlight my will to win as well as my ability to keep the guys around me on track towards our team goals.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

Always early in the week it’s looking at defensive structure to understand what coverages they like to play, then trying to find tip offs to help ID coverages whether it is player alignment or even body language by specific players.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I love the preparation aspect of football and we ran a west coast offense, so I was able to help design plays to put our guys in advantageous positions as well as understand the offense as a whole and I think that sets me apart.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

Our strength coach, Mark Lamoreaux, has done a really good job with preparing former teammates for pro days so I’ll work with him as well as train at 3DQB in Huntington Beach, CA.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

On the field I have the size and arm strength to make all of the throws on the field, but I think the most important thing is off the field I waited for an opportunity to play and when that opportunity came I was able to take advantage of it. For the years I didn’t play, I understood my role on the team and still competed everyday and prepared like I was going to be the starter so when I was on the field I was ready for it.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?

USD has given me a great opportunity as a 5th year senior and I feel like I was able to take advantage of it. I need an organization to do the same and I will do anything I can do to help win football games.
