What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The main goal I wanted to accomplish in my final collegiate season was to be the best leader and teammate I could be for my team. I was able to accomplish this by giving my all every week no matter the outcome.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
The extra year of eligibility was very beneficial for me as I was able to train 2-3 times a day with my teammates and continue to get bigger, faster, and stronger. The extra year allowed me to improve both physically and mentally as a football player which as a result has helped prepare me for professional football. The extra year also allowed me to graduate summa cum laude with my Master’s Degree in Business Administration which was a goal of mine entering college.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say that I am one of the hardest workers on the team and possess strong leadership ability. Both my coaches and teammates would describe me as a physical football player who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, and exemplifies grit & toughness. They would also say that I am very consistent, dependable, and loves to compete against the best.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I am studying film I look at multiple things to improve my game both internally and externally. Internally I break down film of myself to correct errors in technique that may come up in a game or practice in order to fix my mistakes and improve technique for the next rep. Externally I break down film of my opponent to see what tendencies they may have, what technique they use, and what other teams have had success with in order to understand who I am playing against and what I need to do to be successful.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other pro prospects at my position is my physicality, effort, versatility, leadership, and work ethic. I love playing the game of football and everything it has to offer. I embrace the grind that comes with the game and am willing to do what others won’t. Whatever the team needs me to do for the team to be successful is what I am willing to do.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am currently in Pro Day training with D1 Training in Scottsdale, AZ. Every day I am training with professionals who have helped me improve my game.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My strengths and abilities that I will bring to a team are my work ethic, leadership, toughness, consistency, and versatility as a football player.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
All I need is an opportunity to show them that I will outwork any player they have to earn a spot on their roster. Not only will they see my work ethic, but also a leader who shows up every day willing to do whatever they ask for the team’s success.
