Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
One of my main goals I had set out to do was play on the FBS level and play against better competition.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I was always the predator and not the prey. I played hard, physical, and nasty. No matter what the circumstances were, I gave it my all on and off the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When watching film on other teams, I imagine myself in the position of the player going against the team we are scouting. That way I can figure out what type of block works best against the defender, what type of player the defender is and more. When watching practice film, I focus on ways to make my game better. I critique everything.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My heart. I live and die for this game. I tell my friends all the time “If I die, bury me inside O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium(North Carolina Central University)” This is where I started my career at.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I’ve been going back and forth between Houston and Charlotte training. I’ve been working out with active NFL players. Doing some yoga and recovering as well.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
One of my biggest strengths is my leadership. I’m a vocal guy. I’m the life of the party so it’s always a party in the end zone. I’m going to make sure we get our work done and have fun as well. I compete with everyone, not just my position.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
When you hear and think of Nick Leverett, remember these following things:
– He’s a hard worker who has the smarts and athleticism to play and has played all 5 positions on the offensive line
– A player who loves the game, understands the game, and plays at a high level
– A player who has been committed to community service throughout his entire life. I look forward to and will continue to work in and uplift the community around me in whatever city I end up in.
– And finally, they are getting a player that has been underrated his whole life so I have that underdog mentality. At the end of the day, he’s trying to ball.
