Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

We went 12-0 and made it to the College Football Playoff for the first time. I was a leader of the team and was a team captain against Northwestern.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

A leader who inspires others to do their job to the best of their ability. A smart, gritty, tough, football player that is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure our team is victorious.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I look at the past and present NFL great tight ends and try to find what they do different that separates them from everyone else. When studying the other team, I look at the DE’s, LB’s, and DB’s blitz demeanors, stance, hand technique, and overall alignments to find tips on how they will play a certain play we run. When studying film of myself, I focus on fundamentals. Looking at my stance, first step, and route running allow me to fix my overall game.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I am versatile and love contact. I have shown I can lineup anywhere. I can block a defensive end with my hand in the ground or lineup split out and do a lot from out there. I never turn down or shy away from a hit.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I am training at EFT in Chicago for my pro day on March 20.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am a leader in everything I do. I strive to always do the right thing and pull my teammates in that same direction. I was named The AFCA All State Good Works Team Captain for my service to the community. I have the skills and size required to be a playmaking tight end.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I have been a football player my entire life. I love the game. I have the intangibles needed to bring a locker room together with the tenacity and resolve to make big plays on the field. I am a hard nosed, gritty football player that will do my job and win football games.
