NFL Draft 2017 Prospect: Nick Holshoe

Name: Nick Holshoe
College: Concordia
Position: Strong Safety
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 205

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Nick: My style of play in three words would be aggressive, fast, and relentless.

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Nick: I am currently training at MECA in Novi, MI with David Lawrence. Dave is preparing me for my pro day and will be continuing to train me for camp. I am very consistent with my workouts, diet, and film study to correct my previous mistakes.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Nick: If I had to compare myself to one previous NFL player, it would probably be John Lynch. Despite the fact I ended my collegiate career with 14 interceptions, often I would rather deliver the big hit, as John Lynch would’ve. The man himself said it best, “The big hit is like hitting a home run, when you line it up just right and hit the sweet spot you don’t feel a thing.”

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Nick: When studying film, I look for tendencies such as down and distance, alignment, and any bad habits the end man on the line of scrimmage may have to give away run/pass.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Nick: The safety position requires many skills to master. I believe what separates myself from others is my football instincts; aggressive run hitting, and great ball skills. I have a HIGH passion for being the first person to the football. My pursuit and effort has consistently rewarded me with success.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Nick: The abilities I could bring to a NFL team would be a contagious passion and appreciation of the game. I would also bring the two attributes that have gotten me where I am today, a positive attitude and a relentless effort everyday.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Nick: I am a thorough man that loves the sport of football. Through God, my passion, and my work ethic, I would NOT disappoint when given the opportunity to continue my football career. I am a very coachable and hard working man that has a relentless pursuit to perfection.
