Michael Keir: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Michael Keir
School: California University of Pennsylvania
Position: Quarterback
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 220

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

Some of my goals heading into my senior season were to repeat as league champions and ultimately winning a national championship.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Prepared, Calm, and Determined.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

For strength and conditioning, I’m training with Greg Garrett and John Coleman at Level 40 Training and Performance Center in King of Prussia PA. For QB specific training, I’m working with ACE QB Coach, Vernard Abrams.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Sunday: Watch multiple games of the opponent to see what defense they run.(I.E 3/4 4/3)
Monday: Watching personnel tendencies against different offensive formations.
Tuesday: Watching 3rd Down defense and continuing to watch formations as well.
Wednesday: Watching high and low red zone defense as well as Blitz tape.
Thursday: A complete overview of the week and continuing to watch film to see tendencies that give away certain coverages and blitzes.
Friday: By now the OC and I have formed game plan and protections/mike calls to certain blitz’s/defenses.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from others at my position is a willingness to work on the mental and physical part of the game. I will not be outworked.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I believe one of the best parts of my game is my intangibles, things that you can’t measure with a stop watch or in the weight room.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

My final sell to a NFL or pro scouts would be that they wouldn’t regret taking me because if I’m not a success, it won’t be due to a lack of effort on the field or more importantly, in my opinion, the film room.
