Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

For team goals, i wanted to go undefeated, win the conference and National Championship. We accomplished going undefeated in conference play and winning the conference.

For Personal goals, i wanted to be 1st team all conference and an all American. I also wanted to cut down on the amount of penalties and missed assignments. I didn’t receive a single penalty through the season.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

They would say that I’m a smart and reliable player with a great work ethic. Also that I’m very coachable and always trying to improve.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I focus on everything from personnel to defensive structure and tendencies. Being able to have a good grasp of these things help me not think and play faster.

Specifically speaking, I like to study the LBs and how they react when seeing certain plays. Also the back end for any tips that signal a blitz or even possible movement up front. When it comes to the DL I like to find their 1st move and the what they use for their counter in the pass game.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I’d say the biggest thing that separates me from other prospects at my position is the experience that I’ve acquired. I’ve played in 51 games and started 43 of those consecutively. Also, I have a love for the game that’s unrivaled. I don’t just like ball, this is my passion.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I plan to train Harrisonburg, VA. My goal is to add more muscle mass and become leaner. I also want to work on my pass pro and run blocking technique.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I bring leadership qualities that have positive implications on and off the field. I’m a lead by example kind of guy who’s hard work and toughness is contagious. I’ve always been a responsible individual, not getting into any off the field issues.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?

The first team all pro center for the past 3 years has been 6’2 295. This proves that with certain intangibles in a system that fits, prototypical size isn’t crucial. I believe that i have some of the same intangibles that Jason Kelce has and within the right system I would also be able to flourish. But let’s not get things misconstrued, I have the talent to play at the next level. After watching my film I believe this will be apparent.
