Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

In my final season, I was named Captain of the team. I was able to bring along a lot of young guys on the team and show them the way things are supposed to be done. I was also able to be at the top part of the conference in all defensive statistical categories.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

They would say I’m a very instinctive and smart player. They would also say that I’m a natural leader and I’ll do anything to give the team the best chance at winning.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

The main thing I believe I focus on is trusting my eyes. I noticed when watching film there are times when I hesitate because I’m trying to make sure what I’m seeing is 100%, but if I just trust my eyes more often, I’d make even more plays.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other players is my ability to be big enough to play inside the box, but fast and quick enough to play in deep coverage. The ability to do both at a high level, I believe would add a lot of value to a team.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

The main things I would want to train are the little things. Working on the little things can make a big difference. Getting a false step out of a backpedal or coming out of a break. I think getting little things corrected can make all the difference in the world at a combine.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

The ability to bring people together and have a certain type of swagger about them. I believe I can influence people to have a certain attitude that can be infectious and make the whole entire team better. Regardless of what my role is, I would do it to the best of my ability. I could be a positive influence to everyone, not just on the field, but also off of it and making a difference for the better in any way possible.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I know coming into it that I have a lot to prove, considering where I’m coming from, but with the opportunity and the help from a great organization that wanted to take a chance, I believe whole heartedly they would get more than is expected. I understand the work that needs to be put in and the type of odds I’m against, so to consistently be working to be the best player, teammate, and person I can be is nothing new to me. I truly believe I could add a lot to an organization on and off the field.
