Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

My ultimate goal was to win a national championship in my final year, and unfortunately, we did not do that. But individually, I set out to have the best year to date for myself and show that I am the best Defensive lineman coming out of Canada for this year’s draft. This goal was achieved by being ranked #10 and the highest player coming out of Usports (Canadian University League) in the 2023 winter edition of the CFL Scouting bureau list. I also became a conference all-star this year, a goal I set out for. The biggest thing, though, was that I wanted to become a complete player and become a dominant force on the football field, which is what I did this past year.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

They say I’m an extremely hard worker on the field and in the weight room. As well they say I’m a player with a high motor and that I’m a great leader. I would do anything to ensure the team wins and is successful. I’ll play wherever is needed to help put the team in the best position possible. They also say that each year I keep improving, and I still have yet to hit my ceiling, so the Sky is the limit for where my game could go moving forward.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

As I watch film, I start by finding tendencies for the entire offense that show what type of play could happen. I then see the tendencies in their offensive lineman so I can dictate whether it will be run or pass. From there, I look at the Offensive lineman set and their play style to prepare me for what’s coming. Looking at what moves have beaten them in the past or what has caused them trouble is something I look at as well. I also watch myself and review different techniques or moves I’m working on while seeing why a move may have worked in one instance or why it may not have worked. The only way to develop is to learn from what may not have gone right or to improve on what has gone right to make it a habit.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I have the height and the build that teams are looking for when also being quite athletic and can move well for that size. I have also played multiple positions on multiple fronts/schemes. I’ve played end in a 4-3, end in a 3-4, and OLB in a 3-4; I’ve rushed inside from a 3 technique as well and dropped into coverage playing man-to-man with TE’s and RB’s. I’m also a long snapper and can contribute to any special teams by doing whatever the team needs me to do to succeed.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My offseason Plan is to continue preparing for the CFL National Combine and possibly a pro day at my University with our incredible strength & Conditioning staff. I’m also still finishing school, so staying and training at my University was the best option for me.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

To a team, I will bring my work ethic and leadership, my ability to learn, and the drive always to want to get better without being satisfied with just doing my job. Having the ability to be versatile and move around to wherever the team needs me is also a significant strength of mine. Then finally, a strength of mine off the field that could translate to on the field would be how I’m a huge family man and how much my family means to me. No matter what, id do anything for my family and will always have their backs. The same goes for whatever team I’m on. Those guys are my family, and id do anything for them in order for us all to succeed not only in football but also in life.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

All I’m looking for is an opportunity, and I promise that once my foot is in the door, I’ll work my butt off to do whatever it takes to stay while also doing whatever it takes to win as a team. I know only a few NFL teams look at Canadian universities’ players, but we have a lot of talent, and I want to show that I can play and compete against the best of the best. I’ve been proving people wrong all my life, and I don’t plan on stopping now.
