Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

The additional year of eligibility allowed me to mentally and physically mature on the playing field. I enhanced my situational thinking, slowed the game down, and began to understand offensive game plans based on formations. The extra time also allowed me to work on my strengths and weaknesses.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates would say that I am the hardest worker on and off the field. They would acknowledge my passion for the game 7 days a week, and my great ability to be a leader. My coaches and teammates realize that despite being a great player, I am an even better person.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When I study film, I specifically watch for tendencies. From a coaching perspective, I do a situational analysis and observe play calling habits based on down and distance. From a player’s perspective, I observe play style through characteristics like: speed, strength, wasted steps, favorite moves, and body language.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My passion, tenacity, preparation and work ethic separates me from others. Specifically, my will to be involved on every play, even if it’s across the field, makes me stand out. Personally, I would say that I am a ball magnet. I also take pride in open field tackling, which is one of the most difficult plays to make in football.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I plan on gaining speed and agility this off season, through field work, track workouts, and yoga. I will be training at Dilligence Training in East Hartford, CT.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Whatever team that I am blessed enough to play for will get a player who is consistent and versatile. My peers will know what they’re getting from me everyday. Consistency is important because it shows you who to count on. In terms of versatility, I do not put myself into a box, meaning that I am willing to get better through any situation. I am an MBA student-athlete because I want to be a Jack-of-All-Trades. I am a sponge, I like to learn.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

My passion for football is displayed through my film. My preparation allows me to play fast and physical, regardless of size and stature. My ability to run by players on film shows my speed. My will to hit shows my strength. Being a 5’7 safety who is in position to continue his career professionally, speaks volumes on my prosperity. Lastly, the relationships and interactions that I have been blessed enough to form will show my ability to be a sponge and to accept coaching. Overall, I can be the difference maker for a team, on and off the field because of my desire to not only make myself better, but also to make those around me better.
