Kareem Smith: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Kareem Smith
School: FAMU
Position: Wide Receiver/Return Specialist
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 180

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

My goal was to be an All-American and become a MEAC champion.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Quick, intelligent, shifty.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I’ve been working out with various different groups just trying to find the best people to teach me and help me become the best player I can be.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

I look for the DBs first and I find their weaknesses. Which routes and secondary releases work best against them. I look at their hips and try to exploit every weakness I can find. Then I look at the whole defense and figure out their schemes and how they give away their coverage.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I’m small compared to most, but I’m very athletic and I’m a playmaker. If the ball is in the air, I WILL get it! I’m also smarter than most of the players I play against. I know what they want to do before they do it.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I love helping out in the community and giving back to people less fortunate than I am. On the field, I bring knowledge and skill and can help any team win.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I’ve been doubted my whole life. Once a coach has put their faith in me, I never let them down. All I need is a chance and I won’t let that team down!
