Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I had accomplished being team captain for BYU and had accomplished being the best DB, arguably one of the best DB in BYU history. I wanted to win games and be able to be a better player than I was years prior. I won my first bowl game ever in collegiate football.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

A player who has high exceptions and a valuable asset to the team. They would say that I am a passionate and selfless player, putting aside my pride for the betterment of the team. I am a relentless worker who loves competition and loves to win in everything I do. A player with a high iq with a great sense of awareness of situational football. A team player who loves and cares for others’ success on and off the field.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When I watch film, the things that I focus on to improve my game is to know the other team’s tendencies from a team perspective and from a player’s perspective. I usually break my film down by the percentages in down and distance where they are on the field, what formation they are in and if it’s red zone or in 2 min. I watch my competitors’ technique and what they bring to the table and envision what I would do when I am competing against them. The most important thing that I really focus on is the practice film envisioning and manifesting big plays that I am able to make. I like to watch all the bad plays in practice because that is where I learn the most from. I strive to be 100% in technique, alignment, and assignment everyday, so that I am able to make a dynamic play. Realistically I can not be absolutely perfect in all of the categories during practice but if I am able to play 90% of winning ball and be in the right position to make the plays that come my way I have a great chance of being successful.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

What separates me from other prospects is that I am willing to go the distance and win. I believe I am one of the best athletes athletically who will test well and will consistently play at a high caliber level on the field. I have a very high IQ being able to play multiple positions and will play special teams without hesitation. I stress to win and compete that being said I will say that I am dependable and will get the job done in any circumstance. However, being as athletically gifted as I am, I will describe my game as technical, being able to do my job and win while being in the right position to make plays. I can keep up with anybody who I am up against and invite competition. I have not even reached my ceiling and don’t think that I ever will. My potential is tremendously high and would be a great asset to any team. I am a fast learner being able to process information. I am a player that grows from my mistakes and gets better through adversity, and will end up on top.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My off-season plans in order to prepare for the professional opportunities are to tune up my technique and work on my ball skills, taking care of my body so that I am healthy, and being able to perform in top shape when opportunities are presented. I would study that play book night and day and will have an understanding of how to communicate efficiently, to my teammates and knowing not just my assignments but everybody else’s.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Some strengths and abilities that I will bring to a team that will stand out off and on the field is that I am for the people of who I associate myself with. I am very accountable and trustworthy and all I know is to work for those who have my best interest. I am a social person and able to communicate to my teammates/peers being able to ask questions or even to solve problems to gain a mutual understanding. I am obsessed with being the best in everything I do, and you will see me do extra work either if it’s working out, watching films or trying to find ways to be a better man. I encourage my family, friends, and teammates to be successful knowing that I can not become great without them. I always have a saying stating that I can not be my best self if those who I surround myself with are not. I work well with others and am able to understand their strengths and weaknesses so that both games can complement each other. I believe that a team is a family and I personally strive to gain their trust and confidence in order to be successful so that we can win on and off the field.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Believe and trust in me because what I promise and what I am going to show is going to be worth it. For any organization and for whoever is interested in me I will be successful. I invest my time, my effort, and my life in order to gain the mutual goal of a championship. I am a competitor, a player who doesn’t back down from any challenges. You can put me in any trial and I will overcome any adversity. I will take many blows and will lose at times, but one thing I can assure you on is that I will win in the end.
