Jordan Bowie: 2022 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Jordan Bowie
School: Lebanon Valley College
Position: DB
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 185

What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

My goals this season were just to cherish every last second in my last season as a college football player and have fun, learn, and enjoy the season as much as I can. Also, a big thing for me this year was to help the younger DBs around me and give them as much knowledge and tips as I can.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I think the extra year definitely helped me due to the fact I got a extra year worth of of film to add on to what I already had, which is always a great thing. Also, I was able to show different parts of my game that wasn’t shown previously and show how much more polished I am as a player.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates will say my charisma is contagious, a lot of people enjoy being around me and a lot of the younger guys look up to me. They would say I’m funny and have an out going personality. On the field, my teammates and coaches would say I make big plays when our team needs them the most, a really great cover guy that has a dog mentality.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, the things I focus on to improve my game is to make sure my eyes are in the right place every play, and make sure I’m using the right techniques that I’m supposed to be doing. When I watch film, I look for the opposing team’s route concepts they love to run on different downs & distances, as well as WR Splits on the field.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

What separates me from the other prospects is my High level IQ and overall Cover abilities. I can play Press man, Off man, and Zone all at high levels and have really good technique. What really separates me is my fast feet, being able to get out of my breaks fast, and being able to flip my hips that you can’t teach as a coach. A gift I noticed about me is how I see things come before they happen.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My plan this off-season is to get a trainer as soon as my semester is over and get ready for combines, Bowl games, and try outs while improving all my times by then, and God willing be able to have an opportunity to sign with a Professional Team from those opportunities.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

The strengths and abilities I bring to a team is I can play either side of the field as a Corner, as well as bump inside which shows my flexibility as a DB. I have great ball skills, high level IQ which is from the amount of film study I do, and also a person who’s a great locker room guy. I always give back to my community through football and help the younger generation of football players in my hometown York, PA so I will be a great example off the field as well.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I am a player who refuses to be average, loves to compete, and doesn’t back down from nobody and want to be part of a team who’s trying to win championships. Adding me as part of your secondary will be a huge addition because of all the abilities and swagger I bring to the table as a player.
