Allentown, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks enter the Shark Tank of the Jacksonville Sharks in a battle of air versus sea. The two will square off on Saturday, April 1st, with kickoff slated for 7:00pm EST.
Lehigh Valley (2-0) fought for a tough victory over the High Country Grizzlies this past week, taking a victory in the final seconds by a score of 48-42. The defense held when it counted, led by DB Eddie Davis III and his three interceptions (six in two games). The offense has been led by WR Darius Prince who now has five touchdown grabs this season. QB Warren Smith Jr. (25 of 36, 356 yds, nine tds, two ints, two td rushing) will be under center.
Jacksonville (2-0) cruised to a victory over the Georgia Firebirds in their last game. The Sharks have a stellar offense, led by veteran 6’7 QB Tommy Grady (31 of 44, 343 yds, 8 tds, 0 ints) and a hefty offensive line; the starting contingent each standing 6’5 and combining for a weight of more than 1,000 pounds. They have only given up two sacks this season.
Jacksonville has an established franchise that spent the previous seven season as part of the Arena Football League. The game promises to be a showdown of early season unbeatens. The key to this game for the Steelhawks will be to improve their Third and Fourth down efficiency.
