Demetrius Taylor: 2022 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Demetrius Taylor
School: Appalachian State University
Position: DT

Height: 6’0”
Weight: 290

What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I set a goal to be better than I was last year. I accomplished that all around. My stats may have been similar, but I feel like I improved and most of my game.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I took advantage of the year by cutting down in weight and really focusing on my technique more than anything. It’s all about the little things and I believed that showed.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

They would say that I am a selfless player and a game changer. I’m willing to do anything to help the team win.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I focus on anything that can give me keys to reading run and pass. Stances, hand placements, feet, formations, anything that can help me gain that advantage.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I do things people can’t do at my size. I also have more leverage than a lot of people at my position. I’m just a dog period I got that want to i refuse to be beaten.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

Really just focusing on perfecting my craft and getting prepared for the drills at pro day.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I feel that i am a 3 down player and can play at any position on the D line. I’ve done it throughout college. I’m quick and fast for my size and i have leverage over most offensive lineman. I think I could help the team in the run and pass game because of that.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Man the film is out there you guys seen me play. I give my all to my team. I’m a winner i don’t expect nothing less when stepping on the field. I don’t talk much i can show you better than I can tell you. Take a chance on me i promise you won’t regret it.
