David Salmon: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: David Salmon
School: Mars Hill University
Position: Quarterback
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 205

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

To grow in our offense, become a more efficient passer, and develop into a player that my team relied on to make plays.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Competitive, Smart, Passionate.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Work as hard as I can to develop my body, improve my footwork, and continue to clean up my mechanics and accuracy.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

I look for consistencies in defensive techniques, alignments, and tells against various looks. Defenses always give away certain things pre-snap that tell the story of how they are trying to defend each offensive look, I look for those tells on film so I can confidently approach the line of scrimmage looking for the same things.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I believe I prepare mentally to set myself apart from other Quarterbacks. I come into every game prepared, which allows me to use my physical skills at a higher level and play with confidence.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I believe my passion for the game and my competitive drive on the field carries over off the field as well. My love and respect for the game influences how I prepare, how I interact and treat my teammates and coaches, and how I play the game.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

My passion for the game and competitive drive are what separates me from other Quarterbacks. I believe I have the physical abilities as a passer to compete at the next level and also believe I have a mentality of constant improvement and preparation that will allow me to be a positive asset to an organization.
