Camryn Harrison: 2022 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Camryn Harrison
School: Bethel College
Position: WR/RB
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 190

What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I set myself three goals for the 2021 Season. One was to repeat as All-American and earn First-Team honors. The second was to leave Bethel in a better place, and the third was to break Bethel’s all-purpose yard record. In the end, the record was broken. We have been able to create our own history and do important things for the program, such as back to back conference championships and playoff appearances.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

An extra year of eligibility was a blessing beyond measure. I was able to improve on all aspects of my game, both on and off the field, and build a lasting relationship with my teammates. Knowing your assignments and techniques is really important as a triple option player, since it gives you a competitive edge. Knowing your opponents’ tendencies, how they react to certain things on the field, and how to beat them in space are all crucial. As this was my final year, I was able to soak it all in and build those relationships with my teammates. This has been an awesome year!

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

Coaches would compliment how I carry myself as a player and person but also how much of a hard worker I am, who sets the tone and is a big play waiting to happen. Players would compliment how much of a team player I am, a great teammate, and role model.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, I typically focus on how players are lining up, how the are playing the alley and in the box, and also they’re tendencies. Doing this helps me know where they are in the option count, lets me know if I am going to circle block or kick block, and where to hit the runs on pitch plays.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

Versatility! I can play Wide Receiver or Running-back but I also do the dirty work and block. Throughout my career at Bethel, I was looked upon t be the lead blocker in certain scenarios to help other players get free. I am slippery and can get those hidden yards. I averaged 12.1 yard per carry this season. Having the history of playing in the spread offense and moving to triple option has developed my abilities to run elite routes, run the ball with the best, and help my teammates get as much success!

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

Develop strength and speed in the weight room but also continue to master releases, routes, and different techniques I can use to create opportunities for myself on the field. I will also implement the study of coverages to learn more than what I know already.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Any team will have a player/coach who isn’t afraid to work hard and is willing to do what it takes. It doesn’t matter if it’s a practice or a game, I enjoy the game and enjoy being able to have fun. A team that hires me will get a disciplinarian and a professional who not only represents my family, but also the team. My life has been filled with a lot of learning and growth, and to be able to continue doing so is big for me.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

My dream as a child was to play in the National Football League or any other league. As a guy coming from a small school with a lot of experience, I just wish I would be taken seriously by teams. There is no doubt in my mind that I can play football at a high level with the best of them, and I want to prove it to the world. There will never be any change to the effort, determination, and grit it takes to be a great player and teammate. Being given the opportunity would be a blessing and would be beneficial to any team.
