Bryce Gibson: 2022 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Bryce Gibson
School: Indiana University of Pennsylvania/Youngstown State
Position: DB

Height: 5’10”
Weight: 190

What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I set many goals before my senior season, the 3 most important ones were creating turnovers, 50 tackles, and being a leader.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

During the covid year I wasn’t benefitted with an extra season. The conference my team belong in (PSAC) didn’t host a season during the pandemic. I spent that free year training, but to have an extra season like my peers would have been nice.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and my teammates will say I’m a leader and I come everyday ready to bring my all!

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film I like to evaluate my alignment, assignment, and keys. Just focusing on little things like that will expose you to making more plays.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

What separates me from other pro prospects, is I started all 4 seasons without using my red shirt. Three of those seasons I was a shut down corner for Bo Pelini at Youngstown State and one season at Indiana university of Football Pa. I think being a fast learner and coachable got me on the field early as a freshmen.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I am currently training for my pro-day at Stapleton Strength Performance located in Indiana, Pa. I am fortunate to have a chance to perform at Youngstown St pro day since my school is not hosting one.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Strengths I will bring to my team is a competitive attitude on the field and in classroom. This will push people around me to work harder too.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I’m a ball player looking for an opportunity to show what I can bring to the table. Whether that will be guarding WRs on defense or running down on special teams.
