Brady Jones: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Brady Jones
School: UTSA
Position: Wide Receiver/Punt Returner
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 180

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

My goals heading into this season were to take advantage of every opportunity on the field and as a leader to help my team get to a position to play for a conference championship and to our second bowl game in school history.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Relentless, Intuitive, Fearless.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I’m training with Coach Filo at UTSA, focusing on my linear speed and quick twitch. Those are two things that at my position are vital if you want to make it at the next level.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

When studying film, I look to see what type of player I’m going to be facing, is he a hands on guy or does he prefer to shadow. I try to find tips to know when safeties are going to roll since we run a lot of post snap read routes. I also try to watch NFL tape and see if I can find things to implement in my game to make me a better player.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

The key thing that separates me as a player is football IQ. It allows me to play full speed and just react to situations when they happen rather than having to think in the moment.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My strengths are built around my quickness, my ability to get in and out of breaks, and move through tight windows. These strengths, along with my ability to catch anything that is thrown my way, makes me someone who I believe could help an NFL organization.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

By choosing Brady Jones, they are getting someone who only knows how to work harder than everyone else and thrives on competition. A scout will see that when he looks into my eyes, there’s a burning desire to be great.
