Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

My goals coming into the season were to develop chemistry with an offensive line that I just met the spring before the season, as well as help lead the team to the playoffs and be the best leader and example I could be to the team. I was able to earn First Team All-Conference and as a team we finished 9-2. We did not make the playoffs, but I believe I was able to set a great example for the younger guys and show them the hard work and dedication it takes to play and win in college football.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

My coaches would say that I am a great leader by example. I am not a huge ra-ra type of leader, but I work extremely hard, put in a lot of time and effort watching film, studying plays, and crafting my technique. I set a great example of how to succeed in the classroom as well as on the field, and show passion in everything that I do.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, I focus on the little things. When I am watching film on myself, I focus on my footwork, hand placement and timing of my punch, and body position. When I am watching opponents, I focus on little tips such as alignment that they give away that will help me see when they are going to stunt or blitz. That enables me to know where I need to place my hands and place my feet in order to win that rep.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other players at my position is my football IQ. I am very good at looking and reading the defense and determining from that what is going to happen. I am very good at knowing where the ball is going to hit, and putting myself in position so that the defenders cannot make the play. I am very determined to be the best and willing to do whatever it takes to outperform my opponent.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I am going to train extremely hard this offseason. Coming from a small school and being overlooked my entire life has motivated me to work really hard. My training this offseason will be to improve my overall game. Working on all assets, strength, flexibility, footwork, hand placement, film study, and overall football IQ. I want to show everyone that I have what it takes to play at the next level and am very coachable and willing to learn new things.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My character is something that will stand out both on and off the field. I am able to form relationships and get along with just about anyone as well. This helps develop chemistry and bring a team together. My determination to be the best will help me as well as others get better each and everyday. Whether it is in practice, watching film, or working out, I will challenge everyone and never settle.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I want them to know that if they decide to give me an opportunity I will show them that they did not make a mistake. I am very coachable, and will do whatever I can for the team to help them succeed. I bring a great personality as well as the ability to develop relationships and learn from anyone. I am going to dedicate myself to work to improve on anything that I can, and be the best teammate and player.
